Synopsis

Finding Fate is the dramatic story of Charlotte O’Hearn, a talented but struggling young actress on the brink of stardom, when a series of haunting dreams and a dark family secret force her to choose between a successful future, and an unresolved past.

Charlotte’s story begins in New York City where, like countless others, she strives for her big break. The youngest and only girl in a family of four older brothers, Charlotte also seeks identity and independence from the control of her oldest brother Patrick, a blue-collar “acting is bullshit” kind of guy, who raised her after both parents died. This, however, proves to be no easy feat when a series of family tragedies continually pull her back home to Boston.

Finally, her chance comes when the lead actress in a play Charlotte is understudying drops out. The show is a huge success and Charlotte is hailed as the “next big thing.” For a minute and a half life is wonderful, until the long buried family secret rears its ugly head in the shape of a beautiful wooden jewelry box. Concealed inside the box is a letter that makes Charlotte’s world come crashing down. She realizes her father might still be alive.

When Charlotte confronts Patrick about the contents of the letter, an uproar ensues, which not only drives a wedge between brother and sister, it forever changes the O’Hearn family dynamic. Faced with the revelation about her father and the sudden demands of her career, Charlotte struggles with a choice between past and future. Wanting both, she embarks on a journey to Ireland, in search of the father she never had a chance to know.
